- Title
The backroom battle for Canada’s climate future.
- Authors
Buck, Naomi
- Abstract
The article discusses the battle within Canada over climate policy and the influence of trade associations on corporate engagement. Many climate-forward corporations around the world are speaking out against trade groups that undermine climate policy, but corporate Canada has remained silent. A recent report by InfluenceMap reveals that despite the significant influence of the fossil fuel industry on Canadian trade associations, none of their members have spoken up against their climate lobbying activities. The article highlights the need for increased alignment between the private sector and climate science to address climate change effectively.
