- Abstract
Reyes Linares, Pedro Antonio, sj. Power, Fecundity, Community: The Ontological Question of Power in Emmanuel Levinas. The article analyzes an early text by Emmanuel Levinas that offers a critique, based on an analysis of teaching and his peculiar way of establishing links, of one-dimensional notions of power as subjection and subordination in the social model of perfect unity, in order the think of the creation of community from the fruitful relationship with those who previously took us into their non-perfect unity, marked by the attempt to receive the overflowing of the newcomer's novelty. The repetition of this same dynamism, in our own problem and attempt to receive in turn our own "newcomers," is proposed as a principle of sociality and as the challenge that this reading by the young philosopher Levinas lays down for us.
