- Authors
RUBY, JOSHUA
- Abstract
The article discusses the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and the U.S. Congress' delegation of oversight for the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP). The responsibilities of the Financial Stability Oversight Board, the Special Inspector General for the TARP, the Congressional Oversight Panel, and the Government Accountability Office are discussed. The purpose of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission under the Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act of 2009 is also discussed. The ideas that Congress failed to provide oversight for stabilization plans outside of TARP and that a select committee should be authorized to oversee regulatory reform are discussed.
