- Abstract
This article discusses the integration of modified program theory (PT) and implementation fidelity (IF) practices with assessment practices to enhance student learning. The article emphasizes the importance of collaboration between assessment practitioners, faculty development specialists, and teaching and learning centers to improve student learning outcomes. The PT and IF processes involve planning interventions based on scholarship or theory, implementing instructional strategies, and assessing their impact on student learning. The article provides a practical application of these processes in a university-wide program focused on critical thinking and writing. It also offers considerations for implementing PT and IF, such as supportive leadership, identifying participants, and communicating the value of these processes. Overall, the article suggests that modified PT and IF practices can strengthen assessment practices and enhance student learning.
