- Abstract
The article focuses on the ways for a science teacher to assist students to have reflective learning in science in view of literacy skills which is important in science because this gives rise to ideas such as conserving energy, cloning, and science-related issue. It highlights several suggestions for teachers to assist students including student metacognition strategies, explicit teaching strategies that support inquiry-based learning, and performance expectations for students. It cites that teachers who offer much effort to implement these suggestions have fruitful results.
