The article offers suggestions on how to safely handle hazardous chemicals used in science experiments in the classroom. The author gives tips on how to purchase hazardous chemicals. He mentions of two guidelines that must be followed to ensure safety. First, one must buy only those chemicals only needed to get through the year. Second, one must use the least hazardous chemical available that will still allow him to meet his teaching objectives. Most importantly, chemicals should be stored in appropriate locations to avoid accidents.
