- Authors
Clark, Seth
- Abstract
An essay on the profound confusion that fuels the actions, paranoia and eventual fall of the title character in William Shakespeare's tragedy "Macbeth" is presented. It discusses the contradictions of people around Macbeth, his misunderstanding of his role as an active and inactive military general, his justification for killing King Duncan, and his inability to stop killing after he assumed the throne. It also cites Macbeth's evil nature and internal conflict and Shakespeare's vision of evil.
