The article describes the life of the Shafsky brothers, Abraham Harry, Albert, Samuel, and Louis in Fort Bragg, California. They arrived in the town in 1889 and worked as pack peddlers selling merchandise to the men at the nearby lumber camps. It mentions the stores they established, including one in Franklin Street, another in Placerville where Abraham Harry served as mayor, and another two on main Street where items like ammunition and clothing were sold. It also notes that Samuel became a city councilman of Fort Bragg before and during World War I.
