- Authors
Michalik, Jindřich
- Abstract
This article discusses the game Cutting Corners and the strategies involved in winning. The game board is a square with two blue sides and two red sides, and players draw L-shaped lines of their color. The goal is to have more areas of their color on the board after six moves. The article explores the rules of the game, provides observations about the implications of the rules, and describes a program written in Mathematica that analyzes the game and identifies winning strategies. The program has verified a winning strategy for the four-move variant of the game and has found that certain moves are winning for Red in different variants of the game. The text also provides strategy tips for both Red and Blue players.
