- Abstract
In general, people want the places they live to have the qualities that can meet their needs in many respects. These settlements are mostly big cities. Based on this, the capitals of selected countries in Europe were evaluated in terms of livability. Capitals of countries in Europe are generally developed and modern cities. However, the habitability level of each capital city is different and these levels can vary depending on various factors. While evaluating the livability of settlements, cities are ranked according to the calculated indices, taking into account many different factors related to life, such as safety, health, cost of living, climate and pollution. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the capitals of selected European countries in terms of livability by using the CoCoSo method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, and to rank them from the best to the worst. Multi-criteria decision-making methods are the methods used to choose from more than one alternative in a decision that includes multiple criteria that may conflict with each other. The CoCoSo method, which is one of the MCDM methods, is a composite (mixed) consensus decision-making tool that is used to evaluate, rank and choose from multiple alternatives in a decision-making situation involving multiple criteria and multiple decision makers that may conflict with each other. As a result of the analysis made with the CoCoSo method, results with high rank correlation were obtained with the livability rankings, similar to the previous studies.
