- Title
Security issues scuttle Bain/Huawei bid for 3Com.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the delay in a deal for Bain Capital Partners and China's Huawei Technologies to acquire 3Com due to the failure of the companies to come to agreement with the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) about security issues. The proposed deal which was announced in September 2007 raised security concerns because of the close ties between Huawei and the Chinese government. Representative Thaddeus McCotter said that Huawei's stake in 3Com would compromise U.S. national security.
