- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing with particular focus on the regulation of channels of distribution. One development describes the case of the United States v. Tuff-Tire America Inc. In this case. the court found that the Federal Trade Commission's franchise rule requiring franchisers to make complete and accurate presale disclosures to potential franchisees is violated by earnings claims that have no factual basis. Another development discusses the case of Tic-X-Press Inc. v. The Omni Promotions Co. of Georgia, in which the court found that a corporation having the exclusive right to rent the largest enclosed facility in a city illegally ties the rental to ticket agency services when there is a standard rental agreement and promoters are required to use the agency.
