REGULATION OF CHANNELS OF DISTRIBUTION.
- Authors
Werner, Ray O.; Reid, Brad
- Abstract
The article discusses legal developments in marketing with focus on the regulation of channels of distribution. One of the developments describes the case of Empire Volkswagen Inc. v. World-Wide Volkswagen Corp., which shows that an automobile dealership agreement may prelude selling competing automobiles from the same location as the manufacturer's automobiles. Another development discusses the case of Patrick W. Sharkley v. Security Bank & Trust Co. This case illustrates that a bank's insistence that a customer purchase real estate to secure a loan for the purchase of other real estate is a violation of the antitying provisions of the Bank Holding Act.
