- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of product characteristics. Regarding product quality and safety standards, a case involving Ward Corp. is discussed, in which the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) examined the warranty performance of corporations in the home building industry. Regarding packaging and labeling, a case involving Paccar Inc. is discussed, involving questions of labeling and correct product designation addressed by the FTC. Regarding credit terms and conditions of sale, a case involving StarCrest Products is discussed, involving alleged violations of the FTC Mail Order Rule.
