- Abstract
The article focuses on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender relationships in later life in the U.S. In then provides an in-depth view of the opportunities and constraints facing these couples. According to the author, the denial of marriage rights to lesbian and gay couples has contributed to increased scrutiny and questioning of the concept and rights of marriage as an institution. He stresses that denial of these rights has also contributed to the evolution of organizations aimed at correcting what is perceived as an injustice and a violation of civil rights.
