- Abstract
The article focuses on the services offered by the not-for-profit aging-services providers through programs where the elderly can live more independently at a lower cost in the U.S. ElderHealth Northwest designed two supported-living homes, Buchanan Place and Gaffney House, where residents could receive the care and services they need in Seattle, Washington. The need for quality dementia care has also inspired other organizations to develop innovative housing programs with the Freedom House facility at the Air Force Villages in San Antonio, Texas. The Lowman Home is a continuing care retirement community in White Rock, South Carolina wherein social wellness is an important part of the program.
