- Title
New animal-assisted education programme.
- Abstract
Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI) has launched a new Animal Assisted Education Programme in collaboration with the Royal Canin Foundation and University College Cork. The program aims to improve the learning experience for neurodivergent primary and secondary school students in Ireland and promote inclusivity in educational settings. AADI's educational assistance dog instructor, Nadine Bohane, has observed the positive impact of trained dogs in classrooms, creating a soothing and engaging environment for students. Zoetis, a veterinary company, is also running a dermatology awareness campaign for dog owners, providing information on allergic skin disease and encouraging vet visits for proper care.
