- Abstract
The article deals with the management of poorly-differentiated endocrine carcinomas (PDEC) in the colon and rectum. An increasing incidence of rectal carcinoids is reported over the last decades which include well-differentiated (WDEC) and PDEC tumors. Several studies are presented showing a rising trend in rectal carcinoids. Also, several statements and hypotheses have been made regarding colorectal PDEC such as patients usually present with metastatic disease and few are cured by surgery or chemotherapy.
