- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on rare functioning pancreatic endocrine tumors (PET). Such tumors are defined when clinical symptoms are related to peptide/hormone overproduction. The incidence of clinically detected PET has been reported to be 4-12 per million, which is lower than reported from autopsy series. It highlights that both somatostatin analogues and interferon have shown to be effective in the control of symptoms in functioning PET.
