- Abstract
he purpose of this study was to investigate correlates of higher educational attainment among a sample of 1,266 foster care youths. Using National Youth in Transition Data (NYTD) and child welfare administrative data, multiple regression analysis was con- ducted to determine significant correlates of higher educational attainment. Findings revealed ten significant correlates, including receipt of post- secondary support, which showed the strongest association. Directions for future research and implications for social work policy and practice are discussed.
