- Abstract
The article focuses on the career of Lindsay Gamble, a managing copy editor at the American Meteorological Society (AMS). Gamble, a graduate in English and communication, enjoyed creative writing and reading a lot, so she applied for the post of a publications assistant at the AMS. As a publications assistant, Gamble handled tasks such as logging in manuscripts and corresponding with authors. She took the position of an editorial assistant after one year, and then was promoted to editorial coordinator. Soon after that she became the copy editor. Her job responsibilities include editing technical meteorological papers and manuscripts. Information is also presented on the 2008 Interior Appropriations Bill ordering the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to open libraries that were closed.
