- Abstract
The article reports that European corn borer (ECB), ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner), is a major economic pest introduced to U.S. in the early twentieth century. ECB is estimated to have cost growers roughly $1 billion in yield loss and management per year in U.S. prior to introduction of genetically modified crops. For the last forty years, the University of Delaware's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has conducted research on biology and control, and behaviors of ECB.
