The article focuses on the increasing popularity of French women authors in the mid-2000s. Topics discussed include French metropolitan authors Marie NDiaye, Nina Bouraoui, and Calixthe Beyala's texts on neocolonial cultural commodities; the political implications of "Black publishing"; and NDiaye's book "Trois Femmes Puissantes" on racial, national and cultural identity.
