The article discusses the increased amount of misinformation and the growing awareness of its impact on the public's health which led to calls for public health workers and other health professionals to respond to, counter, or correct misinformation to the greatest extent possible. Topics include the great deal of attention being received by the concept of misinformation, variations of misinformation, and the role of the health professional.
