- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined the change in antibiotic prescribing rates for acute bronchitis in the U.S. during the 1996-2010 period. Fluoroquinolones, aminopenicillins and cephalosporins are cited as common antibiotics prescribed in bronchitis cases. Also mentioned are physicians' tendency to prescribe expensive antibiotics and the study's limitations.
