- Abstract
The article offers information on physical therapist, Natalie Skipper who carried out diagnosis of extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) in Paris, Tennessee. It informs that the researchers at Stellenbosch University in Tygerberg, South Africa in February 2013 identified a TB strain and described it as totally drug resistant TB (TDR-TB). It informs that Bedaquiline, the first new anti-resistant TB drug was approved by the U.S. Food and Drag Administration in December 2013 and leprosy drugs, linezolid and clofazimine are being studied as treatments for drug-resistant TB.
