- Authors
Kocher, Bob; Emanuel, Ezekiel J.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the methods to overcome with the hospital spending and reduction of the medical care costs. They state that the health plans do not have any effect of price increase because it poses a small effect on total premiums and it does not have a competitive disadvantage. The authors suggest three methods to lower the pricing power which includes the support of pricing transparency, redefining local markets and creating awareness among physicians regarding hospital prices.
