- Abstract
The article offers information regarding the formation of the Office of Emergency Care Research (OFCR) by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The U.S. federal agency will not directly fund research projects but it will serve for basic, clinical and translational emergency care research and training across the NIH. There are several functions of OFCR which includes coordinate funding opportunities involving multiple NIH institutes, promotion of the development of new funding sources and providing with foster career development for emergency care research trainees.
