- Abstract
Numerical simulation of pollutant diffusion in water is a difficult problem. Since the traditional level set method has a large error in mass conservation, many improvements have been proposed in recent years, among which the particle method combined with the fast step algorithm is the most effective, which is called FPLS (fast particle level set) method. A large number of Lagrangian particles are used to calibrate the level set function, and only the level set equation is solved and reinitialized near the interface. Compared with the standard level set method, FPLS method has the advantages of good conservation and fast calculation speed.
