- Abstract
The article discusses the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress True Divine Church of Salvation (EABIC) (or Bobo Shanti), which is a commune near Kingston, Jamaica that hosts conventions of the Rastafarian movement, and its founder Emanuel Charles Edwards (who is referred to as King Emanuel) during the late 1950s and 1960s. The EABIC's efforts on behalf of Jamaican blacks' repatriation to Ethiopia, is discussed. Rastafarian rituals conducted at Bobo Shanti, including priests' role in this regard, is also discussed.
