- Title
BLUE BOGEY.
- Abstract
This article discusses Jamaican jazz musician Wilton Gaynair's music, especially his performance of "Blue Bogey." Gaynair left Jamaica and became one Europe's most popular and renowned hard bop innovators. The article notes that Gaynair was not only a brilliant saxophonist, but also an outstanding composer. Before he began playing big band music with the Kurt Edelhagen Radio Orchestra in Germany, Gaynair wrote and performed "Blue Bogey." The article also notes that, even though "Blue Bogey" is not a perfect recording, it is considered by Jamaicans to be a classic.
