The article addresses how the novels "The Guardians" by Ana Castillo and "The Round House" by Louise Erdrich offers literary didacticism and collective human rights in U.S. borderlands. It examines how these novels reveal legal restrictions and ambiguities contribute to human rights violations in these borderlands. It also explores how the U.S. legally defines and maintains two types of borders with Mexico and with American Indian nations.
