- Title
Tanks pose possible dengue threat.
- Authors
Grose, Simon
- Abstract
The article reports that rainwater tanks may pose risks of dengue outbreak. It states that Australian homeowners plan to install rainwater tanks as a response to the global warming. However, the tanks may provide new opportunities for the Aedes aegepti mosquitoes to have a place to lay its eggs that will soon carry dengue fever. Michael Kearney of the University of Melbourne argues that the possibility is minor compared to the potential effect of water storage behavior.
