Disposal of waste.
- Abstract
The article discusses standards and guidelines which have been developed for British podiatrist regarding the proper disposal of waste. A discussion of the different types of waste, including confidential waste and clinical waste, that are associated with a podiatry office is presented. The importance of properly assessing waste, properly storing clinical waste and notifying disposal contractors about the types of waste that are being disposed, is discussed. The duty that podiatrists have to obtain waste transfer notes and keep a record of their clinical waste transactions is examined. INSET: Summary action points.
