The article looks at psychoeducational principles of reclaiming troubled and troubling children and youth. Particular focus is given to the development of Fritz Redl and colleagues of Life Space Crisis Intervention and Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children (Re-ED), in which observations concerning troubled and troubling children. The role of advances in neuroscience in studying the storage of traumatic memories in the brain is noted.
