- Abstract
The aim of this study was to test the validity and reliability of a contact mat Jumptest® (CM) that measures the height of vertical jump through the flight time. Sixteen university students of both gender participated as volunteers. Each subject executed three jumps in CM in the test and three jumps in the re-test, which was conducted one week after the test. The CM was upon a force plate PLA3-1D-7KN/JBA Zb. Staniak, Poland (FP) and the height of the jump was recorded by both instruments simultaneously. The Wilcoxon test showed no significant difference between the CM and FP during the test and during the retest. The same happened to the intra-devices comparison, no significant difference was found between the test and re-test for CM and FP. The test of Spearman correlation showed that all the correlations were high and significant. The correlation between the CM and FP in test was 0,819 and 0,833 in re-test. The correlation between the test and re-test was 0,877 for the CM and 0,806 for the FP. The ICC calculated for the CM was 0.93 and 0.87 for the FP. The CV percentage difference between test and re-test was 3.03% for CM and 4.47% for FP. The CM tested proved to be reliable, therefore it presents no random error. Moreover, it is valid to the FP used.
