- Abstract
The article focuses on a report on emergency care for British cancer patients which was released in 2009 by the National Health Service's Institute for Innovation and Improvement. The report was the result of a year long investigation of clinical practice in emergency rooms across Great Britain which was conducted by the institute. The report concluded that clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) have a key role to play in improving the care of emergency patients with suspected cancer.
