- Abstract
The article discusses a research study on the varied accent/articulation marks and their effects on the perception of listeners on length of sustain and forcefulness of attack in trombone articulations. Sixty-eight musician participants were asked to rate a series of seven short musical excerpts on length of sustain and forcefulness of attack with the 5-point Likert-type scale. Findings indicated differences in ratings, agreement for one-dimensional symbols and pedagogical implications.
