- Title
Right to die in Canada: respecting the wishes of physician conscientious objectors.
- Authors
Fletcher, John
- Abstract
The author looks at the stance of physicians on assisted dying law in Canada. He cites that providing medical aid in dying would possibly become legal in the country by February 6, 2016. He notes that 63% of Canadian doctors would refuse to provide medical aid in dying. He stresses the need to be wary of compelling doctors to act against their own moral compass, considering that Canada has a tradition of respecting conscientious objectors.
