- Title
Steege/Chibanguza (Hrsg.): Metaverse.
- Abstract
The book "Metaverse" by Hans Steege and Kuuya J. Chibanguza examines the phenomenon of the Metaverse from various legal perspectives. A Metaverse is a virtual world in which people can immerse themselves using virtual reality headsets to interact with each other. The book covers various areas of law, including platform regulation, legal protection, and legal services law. It is pointed out that traditional mechanisms of dispute resolution are also suitable for conflicts in the Metaverse, but new tools need to be developed. Another book by Rebecca Liebig explores extrajudicial private dispute resolution through digital platforms such as eBay, Amazon Marketplace, and Airbnb. These platforms offer conflict resolution procedures in which the platforms themselves are not directly involved but can mediate and implement decisions in resolving disputes.
