- Title
PATTERNS OF RESISTANCE TO CHANGE IN SCIENCE TEACHING.
- Authors
Perkins, William D.; Conover, John T.
- Abstract
The article discusses some resistance factors found within the school system which affect the changes in science teaching. Resistance is defined as anything from a simple question which must be resolved about a proposal to outright opposition to it. The author had identified sources of resistance including school board, town officials, parents and general public. It is suggested that public information, involvement, curriculum study and in-service education are steps to minimize resistance to change.
