- Abstract
The article discusses a study on stereospecific reduction of α, β- unsaturated carbonyl substrates by old yellow enzyme OYE. Topics include acknowledgment of the key residues involved in stereospecific determination of Gluconobacter oxydans Gox using detailed structural analysis, increase in catalytic activity toward a set of substrates tested by the introduction of Phe mutation and Gox usefulness in providing information to generate desirable OYEs for biotechnological applications.
