- Title
The Admissibility of Polygraph Evidence in English Criminal Proceedings.
- Authors
Stockdale, Michael; Grubin, Don
- Abstract
The article discusses the belief that polygraph evidence is inadmissible in English criminal proceedings with reference to judgments in several court cases. According to the author, the polygraph is colloquially known as a lie detector, but it does not in fact measure lies. In Fennell v. Jerome Property Maintenance Ltd., evidence produced by the administration of a mechanically or hypnotically induced test on a witness to show the veracity of that witness is not admissible in English law.
