- Abstract
The article presents an account of the book "Labour People, Leaders and Lieutenants: Hardie to Kinnock," by Kenneth O. Morgan. Morgan states that his purpose in writing this book is to examine about thirty key personalities in the history of the British Labour movement between 1900 and 1987. He claims that there has been a strong cult of personality in the Labour movement, a surprising trait in a party, which has focused on solidarity, mass endeavour and the common good.
