- Abstract
The article discusses the annual festival of performing arts in Edinburgh, Scotland, the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) inaugurated in 1947, which has completed seventy years in 2017. It discusses the Edinburgh Festival Fringe arts festival also inaugurated in 1947, and compares the two in terms of venues, shows, performances, and tickets sold in 2017. Topics discussed include the new 2017 play "Meet Me at Dawn," autobiographical solo shows, and production and adaptation of classics.
