- Authors
Kongslien, Ingeborg
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "Giants of the Earth," written by O.E. Rølvaag, is presented. It discusses Rølvaag's interpretation of an immigrant family crossing the plains of the U.S. Midwest before settling on the South Dakota prairie in the 1870s. It examines the conversion of expansive prairie land into productive farm land and the experience of Norwegian-Americans in rural America. It also discusses marriage between a Catholic and a Lutheran couple.
