- Abstract
The article discusses the effect of retesting contingencies on achievement, anxiety and attitude of students in seventh grade science. As part of the study, ninety-two seventh grade science students were assigned to three contingency testing such as no retesting, optional retesting and mastery retesting and were measured by four achievement posttest, one anxiety scale and one attitude scale. After thorough analysis, significant differences in achievement were found in favor of the optional retesting and mastery retesting on the content of free-response posttest.
