In this article the author discusses the need for accountability in health care marketing programs. An accountability budget would provide a necessary service for measuring the financial impact of the marketing and advertising effort of each program. Particular attention is also given to the advertising campaign of Saint Joseph Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.
