- Title
Natural killer cells: A TACTILE restraint.
- Authors
Minton, Kirsty
- Abstract
The article discusses the results of the study conducted by Mark Smyth and colleagues which showed the relevance of CD96 function to natural killer (NK) cell-induced pathology. It notes that the study found that cytokine production by NK cells was negatively controlled by immunoglobulin superfamily member CD96 also known as TACTILE. Moreover, the study determined the relevance of the counterbalancing effects of activating CD226 and inhibitory CD9 to NK cell-mediated antitumour immunity.
