The article discusses the issue of sharing historical authority between museums and the public. It addresses the change in mission of museums from information to authorship, the complexity of curation, and the tension between process and intended outcomes. Also examined is how a balance between expertise and experience might be achieved using the case of an Illinois war museum consulting the Filipino community about a Moro exhibit.
